The 2019 Stonegate Award Winners
This year we launched the Stonegate Awards for the very first time. This was our chance to reward you, our customers, with your very own award and your chance for recognition within the industry.
We were proud to dish out three very special awards this year for some really amazing work.
Fabricator of The Year
We were so spoilt for choice in this category that we decided to award two awards for the coveted ‘Fabricator of the Year’ prize. One for the North and another for the South.
Our Southern Fabricator of the Year – Bellagio Stone Ltd
Bellagio Stone, located in Leamington, Warwickshire, create beautiful, bespoke stone surfaces for use throughout the home, specialising in fabricating and installing kitchen and bathroom worktops nationwide. Bellagio is a family business and attributes this very fact as one of their keys to their success.
They believe in creating a warm, friendly and supportive working environment, which means we are always made to feel very welcome when we visit. Like many successful fabricating businesses, customer satisfaction is at the centre of their philosophy, ensuring they always meet the needs of their customer. Bellagio has developed a reputation for attention to detail and skilful craftsmanship, which is supported by continued investment in new technologies and quality tooling, provided, of course, by Stonegate.
Here is an example of some of the work they have produced.
Northern Fabricator of The Year – Natural Stone Surfaces
Natural Stone Surfaces (NSS) were founded in 2001 with just three team members, since then they have vastly grown in size to become one of the UK’s leading stone manufacturers.
Located in the Peak District, NSS provides bespoke granite, marble, quartz and semi-precious stonework surfaces throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe. NSS have a 25,000 sq ft state of the art manufacturing facility, which has made a considerable investment in CNC machines and tooling allowing them to produce a large variety of different stonework surfaces.
Natural Stone Surfaces have gone to a considerable effort to ensure they are also operating in an environmentally conscious way, reducing their carbon footprint, maximising recycling and reducing waste. Their workshop and machinery utilise recycled water, cleaned on site. So not only are they creating some amazing pieces of Stonework, they are also paving the way to protecting our environment.

Best Kitchen Installation – C&J Stonemasonry
We were thrilled to be able to give this award to one of our more small/medium fabricators.
We were recently very privileged to witness the amazing hard work that goes into each and every one of the worktops created by C&J Stonemasonry during a behind the scenes filming session we completed at their workshop. With every piece currently finished by hand, they spend hours polishing and edging the worktops to a very high standard.
C&J Stonemasonry have been in the business for 15 years with co-owners Craig and Jimmy starting out as trainee stone masons and then setting up on their own 10 years ago. Based in East Yorkshire, C&J Stonemasonry pride themselves on the personal process their customers received, as both Craig and Jimmy both see each job through from start to finish.
With Customer Satisfaction at the heart of everything they do, Stonegate decided to present this award to C&J based on this and the technical skill put into this kitchen by hand. A true celebration of traditional methods achieving a beautiful finish, with the support og Stonegate Tooling, of course.

So, let's hear a huge round of applause to our 2019 Stonegate Awards Winners. We have lots of lovely applications and sadly we couldn’t choose everyone as winners, as much as we wanted to. Try your luck next April and this time next year we could be writing about you!
